The location of the hostel is great
I should say first that even though we’ve booked a room at Marco Polo Hostel, the receptionist gave us a room in another hostel (he said the rooms are just the same because all the hostels’ management is done by the same people). The room was very small; there was nothing but a bed and a little bedside table. The space between the bed and the wall is so thin, that even one person would find it rather difficult to stand there. Instead of cozy yellow-colored room which can be seen at the photos we got a tiny room with walls covered with a public toilet-style tile, green bedclothes that reminds of a cheap hospital ward. The towels, that are changed daily, may have some little (or not) holes. By the way, we also had to kill some enormously big cockroaches. The bathroom’s size reminds of a toilet on the plane, the only way to take shower is to sit on the pan. The water that is meant to be drunk seems to be raw. The service staff is represented by one glum African man, rooms were not cleaned daily as it was meant to be, and bedclothes are dried right in the corridor. The door lock doesn’t seem to be safe enough; in fact it would be easy to open the door with just a barrette. When you enter the Chung King Mansion you see so many people from India, Africa, Arabian countries and other regions, they grab your hands, offer you to buy fake watches, cell phones, clothes or even a hooker. Being there is very uncomfortable and unpleasant. Elevators are small too, so you have to stay in line for a while. As a conclusion I should say that this place is more like hell, than like a place to live.
